HEALTH, SOCIAL CARE & MIDWIFERY
Learn to care for others in a variety of settings including working with older people, supporting those with mental health issues and those undergoing rehabilitation.
If you are caring and compassionate, our courses will equip you with the skills you need for a rewarding career in the Healthcare sector.
Shipley College is the lead institution for the Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP) project for Health. As such we have been working with the NHS and local health and care providers, who have fed back that one of the biggest challenges for new staff in their industry is knowing what to expect when they step into a high-pressure situation on the wards or within a care home.
We have been able to invest in the world's most advanced HAL patient simulators - a new born baby, paediatric model, pregnant female, and adult male - and are the first college in the UK to do so.
Our simulators will be placed in 4D immersive rooms, with full wall and floor projections - meaning our students can learn to deal with any situation their future careers may throw at them!
