WHY CHOOSE THIS COURSE

Shipley College's Intermediate Printmaking course is designed for those who want to continue developing their printmaking techniques whilst building up difficulty and exploring multiple layer prints.

You will have hopefully taken part in the Beginner’s course or will already have good experience of printmaking.

The techniques we will explore are:
-
Mono Printing - using water based inks to produce one-off prints.
-
Intaglio/Etching - scribing into PVC and using safe wash ink to work into the plate before pressing using our specialist etching press.

- Lino Printing - carving into linoleum blocks and rolling safe wash or water based inks before hand burnishing and printing.

- Screen Printing - making positives, transferring your image onto a screen coated with photosensitive emulsion, image registration and printing in multiple colours using water-based inks.

You will learn each of the processes in a supportive environment with all equipment and materials provided as part of the course fee.
