CTE Awards

Congratulations to our students and staff who were both nominated for and won awards at Bradford Careers and Technical Education (CTE) Partnership ceremony. Last week's awards were a massive success for Shipley College!

The awards aim to celebrate young people’s engagement, growth and their achievements in learning. The CTE programme looks to help students develop skills and gain experience with a focus on the requirements of local employers to prepare them for the world of work.


AWARD WINNERS

The Health & Social Care student award winner was Kara Colbeck. Kara was nominated for overcoming personal challenges, demonstrating resilience and determination at all times. She also received exceptional feedback from her placement. Well done!

The winner of the award for Computing, Science & Environmental Technologies was Amy Kelsall. Amy was nominated for making a huge impact with her placement employer, Amy performed so highly, she's been offered a job!  Well done & congratulations!

The winner of the award for Essential Skills Initiative and Self-Direction was Alisha Ubaid. Alisha is a star student, having 100% attendance and was nominated for being an inspirational learner and a great role model.  Well done Alisha!

The SkillsHouse Careers & Technical Education award for Educator of the Year went to Rachel Hoyland, our Supported Internship Programme Coordinator. Rachel has shown exemplary dedication to developing career opportunities for young people for over a decade, helping 100s of students.  

Heather Savage, Director of Full-time Programmes & Head of Business & Computing received a special recognition award for her longstanding service within FE, being a founding board member of CTE and dedicating her career to vocational and technical education including new T Levels. Congratulations Heather!
