SHIPLEY COLLEGE AWARDS CEREMONY 2024
Last week, we hosted our 2024 Student Awards Ceremony in Victoria Hall, Saltaire.
Parents, carers and extended family members were invited by the nominees and the venue was decorated with fabulous table centre pieces, created by our Art & Design students.
Student winners, nominated by their tutors, were invited and received a certificate and commemorative photo, along with having the reasons for their nomination being made public. The stories behind why each winner had been nominated, and the things they have had to overcome, were truly inspiring and remind us why FE is such a special place! Obviously being an award winner is something they should all be adding to their CVs and mentioning in applications! It was amazing to see so many full time and part time students being recognised for their incredible hard work.
A special well done to Mohammed who won the Principal’s Award, after achieving a Distinction in T Level Digital Production, Design and Development.
Diana, our Principal said, “Not only is he an excellent student, he is a thoroughly wonderful young man - hard working, positive and determined. He has taken every opportunity the college has put his way, including his work placement, and exemplifies the attitudes and behaviours that we encourage in our young students. Mohammed is now at Bradford University studying Computer Science - we are excited to see what he will go on and achieve after that.”
