OPEN THE DOOR TO A GREAT CAREER WITH APPRENTICESHIPS UNLOCKED!

Imran the Apprentice's Immediate Start!
Shipley College student Imran is proving that apprenticeships open doors to great careers, securing a highly competitive apprenticeship with Lloyds Banking Group before finishing college.
The T Level Digital Production, Design, and Development student is set to start his new role straight after completing his studies at Shipley College, a testament to the College’s reputation for connecting students with top employers in West Yorkshire.
Reflecting on his success, Imran said:
"I think people should attend the Apprenticeships Unlocked event because of the incredible opportunities available for apprentices. I took the opportunity to spark an interest – and you can too. There are so many different pathways!"
Tom Mott, Business Manager at Lloyds Banking Group:
"When I hear that Shipley College has got the highest achievement rate for 16 to 18-year-old apprentices in West Yorkshire Colleges, I'm really not surprised. We work with a lot of different colleges, and certainly, the students we've had from Shipley College are very impressive.
We hired three from Shipley College because of their dedication and their training.
The students from Shipley College were fantastic, hard-working, dedicated, and the big thing - enthusiastic. They came with shed loads of it."
To help more students achieve similar success, Shipley College is hosting the Apprenticeships Unlocked event at Victoria Hall, Saltaire, on Tuesday 11th February 2025, from 9 am to 3 pm.
The event is an essential opportunity for school leavers, young people, and anyone aged 16 and over to explore local apprenticeship opportunities in industries such as IT & Digital, Manufacturing, Public Services, and Engineering. Visitors will also receive expert career advice from training providers including SkillsHouse Bradford and the National Careers Service. There is no upper age limit on an apprenticeship - they are open to anyone, whether employed or unemployed.
The event is run in collaboration with SkillsHouse, Keighley College, Bradford College, West Yorkshire Consortium of Colleges, and Bradford Council.
