GREAT PEOPLE.

We have some amazing staff members at Shipley, Dean is one of our caretakers and has worked here for almost 5 years. We asked Dean about his role at the college and why he thinks it's a great place to work:

'I am one of the caretakers at the college and I have worked here for 5 years in May. My day mainly consists of opening and closing the buildings, setting up rooms for classes and exams, moving equipment around the college and delivering reprographics orders. I am also a qualified first aider. As a team we help with the general running of the college and we work with all the departments across the campus. 

My favourite part of my job is working with the different departments, you build up really good relationships with colleagues and it makes work more fun. I also really like the fact that no two days are the same, everyday there will be different tasks for us to complete so it's always varied.

Outside of work I play in a brass band at church, I like dancing, rock & roll and swing jive, and I also like running and listening to 80s music! A fun fact about me is that I am a black belt Taekwondo.

I really enjoy my job and working at Shipley College, everyone is friendly and Saltaire is a great place to work'.
