Our relationship with local schools is very important to us. Shipley College won’t be the right choice for every school leaver in the region, but for many - we are the perfect choice.
This could be based on location and accessibility, the course areas we offer, the support we provide, or simply the unique nature of our college setup.
We work with many local schools to provide opportunities to best explain what we are, and why people might benefit from becoming a Shipley College student, so that school leavers, their parents and other supporters, can make an informed choice.
We’re a small college with limited resources, but we will bend over backwards to accommodate requests from partner schools and help you to achieve adherence with Gatsby benchmark #7.
Our offer to schools includes, but is not necessarily restricted to:
- Bringing an exhibition stand, merchandise and enthusiastic staff to your in-school careers event/s
- Delivering 10-20 minute Assembly Presentations in-school for years 9, 10 and 11 - including explainers on T Levels and Apprenticeships
- Saltaire taster visits (all sectors)
- Saltaire taster visits (sector-specific)
- T Level CPD sessions for teachers and school staff
- Apprenticeships CPD sessions for teachers and school staff
- Providing annual Shipley College literature as required (Course Guides, Open Day posters for display etc)
- Invitations to Shipley College Open Days
- Invitations to specific Information Events
- Saltaire campus tours
- Sector Workshops
- ‘Shipley Snippets’ database for schools staff - a 1-minute weekly read
