Are you 16-18 and bored at home with nothing to do?

Then why not join Shipley College’s Activ8 course, which starts very soon…

 It’s a fun and exciting course based around practical activities that interest you. You only need to come in for 15 hours  a week. Thats 5 hours a day, 3 days a week. You may also be eligible to get upto £30 a week EMA.

On the course there are 6 vocational areas available which include:

• Using Teamwork skills
• Healthy Living
• Cooking
• Personal Career Planning
• ICT
• Personal Fitness

The course is for anyone who:
• Is not sure of what to study or what type of job they want.
• Is not currently in a job or on a training scheme.
• Perhaps did not have a very positive experience at school and is looking for a new start

What do I need?
• No formal qualifications are required.

• A positive attitude and enthusiasm for practical activities and a willingness to try new things.


What will I get at the end of it?

Upon successful completion of the course you will get a NOCN Certificate for Progression. You may also get a qualification in Work Skills.

You will also have a clearer sense about what kinds of things interest you and what you would like to do in the future. The tutors will also work with you to explore future options with you such as, staying on at college, working and learning through an Apprenticeship or even getting a job.
