Centre of Excellence for Business (Cofe4B)

If you are a local business or organisation who would like to get involved in the Centre of Excellence for Business to help inspire young people, we would like to hear from you.
You can join the growing number of local employers who are working closely with us and our partner schools across the Bradford district including Titus Salt School and Carlton Bolling College.

The CofE4B onsite at Shipley College combines quality education and training opportunities for Level 3 Business, Media and IT students, to prepare students to progress in to work or university.

The centre works with a board of local employers who contribute to the learning experience of our students. Current employers including Morrisons, Yorkshire Water, Incommunities, Adviser Plus, Computershare, Bradford Council and the University of Bradford.

In the CofE4B we provide work experience opportunities and real life project scenarios with a number of local employers such as yourself to help prepare our students for the next step. As employers you have the opportunity to help shape their future by providing master classes, mentoring opportunities, work experiences and educational visits.

Employer Feedback:

I feel that the Centre of Excellence scheme is a fantastic opportunity for the students and a great way for the employers to find and nurture talented students.

Graham Moore, Provident Financial Group

The students were well-liked, settled in well and were good team players. Everything went smoothly, and we had no issues. The partnership with Shipley College went extremely well, and given the success of this intake we would be happy to take further students in the next academic year.

Georgina Clayton, Incommunities

I think the Centre of Excellence for Business is a fantastic idea and all the hands-on experience that is offered is so relevant to prepare students for the world of work. Furthermore, industry is able to go directly to them at the Centre of Excellence to teach them the skills needed to increase their employability.

James Kaleda, Talent Advisor - Yorkshire Water.
